4-year term
I have called our Town home since the age of 12, when my father moved my brother and me here and enrolled us in East Lyme Public Schools. Following my graduation from East Lyme High School in 1993, life and military service took me away at times, but I always found myself returning. Over the years, I have built lasting relationships through school and supporting local businesses here, and encouraged some of my closest friends to raise their families in Town. For me, East Lyme isn’t just where I live, it’s where I have found community and home.
Currently, I work as a Service Engineer and Instructor at Collins Aerospace, where I bring 20 years of leadership experience from my military career. I retired Honorably as a Noncommissioned Officer after 4 years of Active Duty in the U.S. Air Force and 16 years in the Connecticut National Guard. Prior to my work at Collins, I was employed at Electric Boat and United Technologies Aerospace.
I received my professional training at U.S. Air Force and Army technical schools as well as through Army Leadership Development Resident courses. Most recently, my course work to complete an Associate’s Degree at Middlesex Community College is in progress.
I take great pride in the diversity and richness of our community—from its woods, beaches, and local farms and orchards to its thriving small businesses, excellent schools, and multi- generational residents who share a deep love of the Town. When asked to run to be a member of the Board of Finance, I saw it as an opportunity to serve in a new capacity. Public service in my view is an extension of a lifelong drive to help others and give back. If elected, I will work to ensure that the Town’s finances are managed responsibly and with common sense, respecting taxpayers’ burden while also protecting the quality of life enjoyed here.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews, lending a hand as “the friend with a truck”, and pursuing fitness and creative goals.
I am a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the NRA, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
