Norm is a life-long resident of East Lyme. He has served the Town’s Zoning Commission with dedication and sound thought since 1989 and is seeking reelection to continue his service.
Norm is a graduate of St. Anselm College where he received his B.A. in Business and Economics. Since 1993 he has been self-employed as a Commercial Realtor, now affiliated with Signature Properties of New England. From 1973-1997, he worked as an Independent Insurance Agent with Smith Insurance.
Public service and community service have been an ongoing focus of Norm’s life here in East Lyme. In addition to serving on the Zoning Commission, Norm has been a member of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development Committee (3 terms). He has served as President of the East Lyme Historical Society since 2001. Concurrently, Norm has also been serving as Vice President of the East Lyme Cemetery Association. He is also a Trustee of the Elisha Miller Fund, founded in 1735, that now provides an annual donation to the East Lyme Scholarship Fund. Since 1988, Norm has been a member of the Niantic Rotary.
Norm looks forward to continuing to listen closely to the public as part of his work on the Zoning Commission. To this end, he encourages all to participate in our public hearings to communicate their views on land use issues under consideration. He respectfully asks for your vote in the upcoming election.
