for Zoning Commission Alternate
4-year term
4-year term
Bill was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont. After living in Chicago and New York City, he and his family settled in Connecticut--Stamford, later in Wilton, where they lived for many years. He moved to East Lyme in 2019. He has been married to Barbara for 36 years; they have two adult children and one grandchild—so far!
Currently the President of Follett Corporation, Bill is also Vice President of Sales at Martin’s Herend Imports. He holds a BS in Business Management.
Bill has taken on considerable volunteer efforts over the years. He has served on the Commission that oversees Brookside Farm Museum, one of our Town’s historic properties, since his appointment to that position by the Board of Selectmen in 2023. While in Wilton, Bill served on the Historic Districts and Properties Commission as well as the Water Pollution Control Authority. He also served for over 15 years as Buildings & Grounds Chair of historic Wilton Congregational Church. During this time, he spearheaded a multi-year effort that resulted in three grants awarded by The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation to restore a prominent antique structure owned by the Church. Bill has also volunteered as a guide at Mystic Seaport, for the property team at Weir Farm National Historic Park, and on several Habitat for Humanity projects in Bridgeport and Danbury.
Bill is looking forward to continuing his service to East Lyme as an Alternate to the Zoning Commission. He is committed to attending meetings, asking questions, and making decisions that best serve the public, property owners, and business interests.
