James Liska
Jim and his wife Renee are long-time residents of East Lyme and are the parents of two sons, Evan and Nolan. Jim was a member of the East Lyme Zoning Commission from 2010-2021 and is now seeking to continue his service to our community as a Planning Commission Alternate.
Currently a Manager of Clinical Engineering at Yale New Haven Hospital, Jim is a former Army aviation crew chief, specifically on the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. He retired after serving 26 years with the Army, including multiple overseas assignments and two combat deployments.
Jim received his Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A. Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut—Avery Point. He also holds an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Springfield Technical Community College.
Jim would like to use his extensive experience on our Zoning Commission as well as his management skills honed in the Army and in his civilian career to address planning issues here in Town. He would like to work with fellow members of the Planning Commission to champion sensible subdivision regulations and planning to maintain the many natural features and resources of our Town.
When not working, Jim enjoys our beaches, boating, and East Lyme community events with his family.
