Olivia Fairchild
Olivia Fairchild
Olivia Fairchild has lived in East Lyme since 2020. She and her husband Shannon moved to East Lyme because of its exceptional school system, close-knit community, and beautiful landscapes.
Olivia was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, surrounded by farmland in the south-central part of the state. There, she served as the Penn Manor School District Student Liaison to the Millersville Borough Council from 2014 to 2016. She attended The Pennsylvania State University and earned a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership, and a B.S. in Economics specializing in Business and Law. Through college, Olivia worked as a resident assistant and showed horses for the Western Equestrian Team, of which she was Treasurer, then President.
After graduation, Olivia began her current role in Purchasing at Electric Boat.
In 2021, Olivia was elected Planning Commission Alternate. She also served on the Commission’s Affordable Housing Subcommittee to create, in partnership with Goman and York, East Lyme’s Affordable Housing Plan. This plan was unanimously accepted by the Planning Commission and adopted in December 2022.
From an early age, Olivia’s grandparents, a reading specialist and a second-grade teacher, instilled in her a love of reading and education. She was always happy to learn new things, and hopes to inspire others to feel the same. Olivia is seeking election to the Board of Education with a goal to help students maximize their educational experiences so they are excited and prepared for their futures.
On weekends, the Fairchilds enjoy spending time in Town, dining at one of East Lyme’s many wonderful restaurants, hiking with their dog, and in the fall, watching Viking Football games.
