Eric Bauman

I am honored to present myself as a candidate for the East Lyme Board of Education in the upcoming 2023 election.  Over the past 8 years, I have proudly served as a dedicated member of the Board of Education, assuming the role of Board Chairman for the past 2 years. During this time, the Board has achieved remarkable milestones that have directly enhanced the educational experience for our students.  Notable accomplishments include the successful implementation of Pathways, a visionary initiative that empowers students with diverse career options beyond the traditional college route.  Additionally, we successfully renovated all three elementary schools and did so within budget.   

With nearly three decades of professional experience in Finance at Pfizer, I have extensive experience in Business Development, Operational Enhancements, Strategic Planning and Budget Optimization.  

Education has always been a priority in my family.  As East Lyme residents for almost 25 years, my wife and I have witnessed the transformational power of education from our three children, who all are products of East Lyme’s school system.  Personally, I hold a BS in Business from the University of Delaware and earned my MBA from Seton Hall University with the distinction of highest honors. 

Beyond my involvement with the Board of Education, I also serve as the Treasurer for The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut, an organization dedicated to preserving our nature heritage.  Additionally, I contributed over 8 years as the Treasurer for East Lyme Youth Basketball.
