I’m George Austin, a resident of North Central Connecticut. I married young, after meeting my wife and stepson in Mexico, at the age of 17, and worked through the challenges of our immigration system. I waited, sacrificed, and persevered– experiences that shaped my resilience and gave me a unique perspective that I carry with me today.

I put myself through Central Connecticut State University, earned a degree in Construction Management, and built a life as a small business owner. Nothing came easy—I succeeded because I refused to take “NO” for an answer.  That’s the same sense of urgency I want to bring to families who feel the future here is slipping away.

I’ve been proud to serve my community as a member of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association, the National Federation of Independent Business, and both CCDL and the NRA.

Connecticut is the best place to raise a family, but too many of our kids can’t afford to stay. I’m not a politician—I’m one of you, an everyday working man who knows what it means to fight for a better future.
